    Historical VIA CLAUDIA AUGUSTA

On the tracks of the Romans. Nature and culture in an adventure duet.

Off we go – along Europe’s cultural axis! This popular cross-border long-distance cycle tour starts in Donauwörth, Bavaria, on the beautiful blue Danube. You can look forward to this stage! You cycle on wonderfully quiet paths towards Augsburg. A “must-see” is the romantic Neuschwanstein Castle – the fairy-tale castle of King Ludwig II.

Ehrenberg Castle World near Reutte in Tyrol awaits with its ruins, medieval walls and knights’ games. You will pass impressive alpine formations with mighty peaks. Crossing the Fern Pass at 1,216 m above sea level, you continue to Imst and Landeck. The “Haus der Fasnacht” (Carnival Museum) is perfect for a stop in Imst. Here you will learn about the background of the traditional Imst Schemenlaufen (procession of masked, costumed dancers). Tradition at your fingertips!
