    To the bikers’ meeting point

The round trip is the same as no. 7 “Knifemakers‘ Trail” i.e. we travel via Waldneukirchen/Grünburg to the Steyr bridge by the Haunold Mill. Then we continue on asphalt for approx. three kilometres before turning left at the junction into the Dorngraben, where the uphill ascent with a distance of 8.5 km and 650 metres of altitude awaits. One more asphalt section then some gravel, as you would expect. It will shortly be the end of the road for cars but you can continue on typical, unsecure forest roads.
You can relax a bit on some flat sections and you’ll be able to see more once you get to the Pfaffenboden junction. The last few metres take us below the slopes of the Hochbuchberg and to an idyllic hut that has become a popular meeting point for bikers. A hearty snack tastes particularly good at an altitude of 1,100 m. You can rest on the warm meadow slope and enjoy the impressive views before tackling the downhill descent, which demands cycling ability and braking. But please be careful – authorised vehicles and hikers also use these routes and the road isn’t a race track! You can either return on no. 7 via Steinbach or along the four kilometre shorter route via Grünburg … and you’ve finished. Salute the mountains!
