Stainz, which is also home to the Joanneum Hunting Museum and Agriculture Museum at Stainz Castle, is a very good starting point. We leave the Schilcher wine town and pass the inviting “Rauch-Hof” wine tavern in Wald. Cycling along the Schilcher Wine Route, we arrive in Marhof. Let’s enjoy the beautiful hills of the Schilcher region and the picture-postcard sceneries. In the “Bermuda Triangle”, we treat ourselves to a glass of Schilcher wine in one of the many wine taverns. Then we continue downhill towards St. Stefan. Having cycled through Gundersdorf, and again past some wine taverns, we start heading back to Stainz in the direction of Lichtenhof. Our route leads us through a lush green plain to Lemsitz and then through the Schilcher wine-growing region, pumpkin fields and forests until we arrive directly at Stainz Castle. The beautiful castle trail then takes us back to Stainz.
