From the north-eastern Dolomites in South Tyrol, the first part of the cycle tour takes you along the Drau river through the valley of the same name in Austria and onwards through the Gailtal valley. Along the cycle paths in Carinthia, not only one or two delicacies from the region await you, but also the beautiful Lake Presseggersee - a great place to combine cycling and swimming on holiday.

After a short detour to the Italian border town of Tarvisio, you can continue your cycling holiday in Slovenia. At the foot of the Julian Alps, you can unwind here at the fairytale Lake Bled. After a transfer to the southern side of the Alps, you then return to Italy to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and the famous Collio wine region. Afterwards, the former capital of the Lombards, Cividale del Friuli, is definitely worth an extended stroll. A spectacular finale awaits you on the last day of the cycle tour: you cycle along the Adriatic Sea to the former Habsburg harbour city of Trieste with a fantastic view of the sea.

Alternative option: Instead of spending one night in Cividale del Friuli, you can also spend two nights in Bled and savour the beautiful nature around Lake Bled to the full.

The cycle tour from the Dolomites to Trieste offers eight days full of variety and is suitable for people aged 14 and over. The route runs mostly on cycle paths or along very quiet side roads through small villages and idyllic landscapes. The last two days are slightly hilly.
