The varied cycle route begins in Alta Pusteria and runs along long sections of disused railway lines, through typical Italian villages and over gentle hills that set the rhythm of the tour. The route leads into the foothills of the Alps and on to Belluno and Feltre, where culture and nature come together in the saddle. The last stage finally leads across the Po Valley with its wide river courses to the sea in the lagoon city of Venice. Predominantly flat to slightly undulating, the tour is ideal for leisure cyclists - with or without electric assistance. An alternative route of the Dolomites crossing does not lead to Venice, but continues along similar paths to Trieste - also a fascinating destination by the sea.
