A 5-star cycle tour through three countries
The Drau Cycle Path, awarded 5 stars by the ADFC, stretches over 366 kilometres and takes you from the source of the Drau in the Italian Toblacher Feld through the picturesque landscape of East Tyrol and Carinthia to Maribor in Slovenia.
Cycling pleasure along the Drau
The journey begins in the picturesque Alta Pusteria, not far from the source of the Drava. The river accompanies you through varied landscapes with imposing mountains, idyllic valleys and charming towns. From Dravograd in Slovenia, the cycle path leaves the valley floor and winds its way through the gentle slopes, opening up breathtaking panoramic views of the Drau Valley.
After Maribor, the former European Capital of Culture, the route continues to the oldest town in Slovenia - Ptuj. The finale is the baroque town of Varaždin in Croatia, which impresses with its historic old town and artistic flair.
