Around the mountain - Kreuzbergl & Falkenberg

From the city centre, you cycle along the Lend Canal out to Lake Wörthersee, where you can marvel at Maria Loretto Castle on the peninsula of the same name. The route then continues westwards along the eastern bay of Klagenfurt and along the lakeshore. Via the Hallegger Teiche ponds, you cycle around the Kreuzbergl recreational area to Falkenberg Castle. Via the Schleppekurve and Feldkirchner Straße you return to the starting point of the tour at Neuer Platz.

The beautiful New Square with the town hall and Lindwurmbrunnen, Klagenfurt's landmark, forms the starting point of this tour.

From there, you cycle to the Lend harbour, along the idyllic Lend Canal and past the large Europapark. After a detour to the Maria Loretto peninsula, the route continues to the eastern bay of Lake Wörthersee.

Cycle along the lake to Kropfitschbad. From there, the route continues northwards, past the Hallegger ponds and along the Trettnigstraße road around the Kreuzbergl. Here you can take a detour to the beautiful Falkenberg Castle.

After the break, cycle back towards the town centre along the Glan cycle path. On the way, you pass the Lerchenfeldgymnasium and the house where the famous writer Ingeborg Bachmann spent her youth. The Bachmann Prize, one of the most important literary prizes in the German-speaking world, was dedicated to her.

The tour ends at Neuer Platz.
