B63 Orchard meadow cycle path
A beautiful circular route through the gently rolling hills around Stegersbach. With 3 short climbs, the cycle path is relatively even and easy to cycle on.
The B63 orchard cycle path is more than just a cycle path - it is a journey through time through unspoilt southern Burgenland, where nature still sets the pace and the landscape tells stories.
For around 40 kilometres, this circular route winds gently through the gentle hilly landscape, past old farmhouses, fragrant orchards, charming cellar districts and venerable orchards that are rarely found today.
Some of these trees are over 100 years old - silent witnesses to a farming culture that lived life with the seasons and knew the value of every fruit.
Whether as a leisurely day trip with the family or as a conscious break from the fast pace of everyday life: the B63 invites you to pause for a moment. Especially in spring, when the fruit trees are in full bloom, or in autumn, when apples, pears and plums are ripe for harvesting, the route unfolds its very special charm.
And if you keep your eyes peeled, you will also discover rare plants, buzzing wild bees and perhaps even a hoopoe - the secret king of the orchard.
Roadbook
From Stegersbach, the trail follows the Strembach southwards to the Rauchwart bathing lake. From there, there is a short ascent to Rohr/Bgld and then a further ascent into the Lafnitz valley. Upstream of the Lafnitz, the cycle path leads to Wörth - after another short ascent, the route leads mostly slightly downhill via Stinatz and Ollersdorf back to Stegersbach.
