The charming landscape in the sunshine, covered with vineyards, orchards and olive groves. The many villages in Brda are a paradise for cyclists who want to discover the beautiful countryside in peaceful surroundings. To overcome numerous hills without major effort, we offer the possibility to explore Brda with electric bikes.

The Kirsch route crosses the border into Italy. It takes you on a journey through the Slovenian Brda and the Italian Collio and lets you enjoy the views of both wine regions.

The route starts in Dobrovo, which is known for its castle with museum and gallery as well as the Klet Brda winery, the largest producer and exporter of Slovenian wines. The village of Fojana is interesting for its Church of St. Spirit on the Lake.

The route leads through the villages of the Italian Collio and passes the towns of Mossa (Moš) and Lucinico (Ločnik).

Roadbook

The route begins and ends in Dobrovo. It runs along the Reka River on a gravel road and then passes through the village of Fojana, where it crosses the border with Italy and reaches the village of Ruttars (Rutarji). The route then winds its way through the Italian Collio, passing the villages of Plessiva (Plešivo), Russis di Sopra (Gornji Rušč), Mossa (Moš) and Lucinico (Ločnik) as well as the villages of Gradiscutta (Gradiškuta) and Giasbana (Jazbine). The border with Slovenia is crossed in Vipolže and the route leads back to Dobrovo.
