Pustertal Valley cycle route: San Candido - Brunico stage

The green colour of the meadows, fields and forests dominates on the Innichen - Bruneck stage. Along the railway line, partly through inhabited areas and partly through unspoilt natural landscapes, the cycle path runs up and down from village to village to Bruneck, the economic centre of the Pustertal Valley.

Pustertal Valley cycle route: San Candido - Brunico stage

The tour starts in San Candido and first leads to Dobbiaco, the highest point of the stage. It then heads downhill along the Rienz river via Niederdorf to Welsberg. There you can make a stop at the golf course or at Welsperg Castle. Continue to Olang, where you pass the districts of Oberolang, Mitterolang and Niederolang. Highlights include the Olang children's world, the 3D archery course and the restored Venetian "Lipper Säge".

The cycle path continues through increasingly peaceful countryside to the medieval town of Bruneck. Bruneck Castle lies high above the town, while shops and pubs down below invite you to linger. Cultural highlights include the Dietenheim Folklore Museum, the MMM Ripa and the MMM Corones on the Kronplatz (accessible by cable car from Reischach).
