Themed tour: Tour de Holzland
Reischach - Winhöring - Engfurt - Pleiskirchen - Wald near Winhöring
Even the Celts and Romans settled in the mystical Altöttinger Holzland, through which this tour leads. Today, the dense mixed deciduous forests have given way to economically more profitable spruce forests, but the area has retained its unspoilt character with its gently rolling hills, fertile riverbanks, churches and castles. You start in Reischach, where the Bible Trail leads to the "Zoglerberg" vantage point, from where you can overlook large parts of the woodland north of the Inn. The route continues through Winhöring to Pleiskirchen: Here, genuine Bavarian hospitality has been practised at the Huberwirt since 1612 (!). To round off the tour, take a dip in the Hochmühl bathing lake, idyllically situated in the Rockersbachtal valley.
