Characteristics: frequent but moderate gradients; very well signposted in both directions, recognisable by the Wasserburg lion cycling. The route is mainly tarmac with short gravel sections. - many culinary specialities
- the special beauty of the landscape around Wasserburg, formed by Ice Age glaciers and shaped by farmers into a cultivated landscape characterised by grassland
- more horses, cattle and sheep grazing peacefully on green pastures than anywhere else
- stately farmhouses that have been cleaned up with love and pride
- southern and romantic flair in the town of Wasserburg
- stylish village and monastery churches, as well as castles

- marvellous views of the Alpine chain time and again
- all in all, a firework display of beautiful impressions.
The route is simply too good to cycle in one day. You should bring at least two days with you to enjoy all the many beautiful impressions and to take advantage of at least some of the many sightseeing opportunities.
Roadbook
Route: Wasserburg am Inn - Wang - Sankt Leonhard - Amerang - Höslwang - Bad Endorf - Söchtenau - Schonstett - Griesstätt - Rott am Inn - Ramerberg - Wasserburg am Inn
- If you are travelling by train, the route leads from Wasserburg station in the Reitmehring district via Gabersee and Burgau down the Köbingerberg to the town of Wasserburg, which is surrounded by the River Inn.
- Cyclists not travelling by train can use the car park under the ramp.
- In Wasserburg am Inn, also known as the "Pearl on the Inn", you will experience a special southern flair:
- Inn bend and historic townscape of the town of Wasserburg
- Badria" leisure centre
- historic town hall
- Wasserburg Museum
- Wegmachermuseum
- A boat trip with the Inn navigation
- Beer catacombs
- You leave the town via the dreamy Wuhrbach valley and soon you will see the charming little patrician castle of Weikertsham. Don't miss the short detour to the "Schöne Aussicht" with a view of Wasserburg in the Inn loop.
- The beautiful wildlife park in Oberreit is well worth a visit. The path there is flat, surrounded by fields and meadows.
- A dreamy path now awaits cyclists at Kirchloibersdorf. Passing a quiet lake with a view of the Kling castle hill, you visit the source of the Murn near Surbrunn, a river that surprisingly flows southwards before joining the north-flowing Inn.
- In Amerang, it is worth visiting the Farmhouse Museum with its historic buildings and the Museum of German Automotive History EFA Mobile Zeiten. After leaving the town, you reach Amerang Castle. The famous arcaded courtyard from the Renaissance period offers outstanding acoustics for the castle concerts. The castle with its interesting history is open to visitors from Friday to Sunday, for groups also on other days.
- In Höslwang we admire the baroque church, which clearly shows the work of Wessobrunn artists. The flag of the largest FC Bayern fan club hangs next to the maypole.
- Now you pass the Pelhamer See bathing lake, which is part of the famous Eggstätt-Hemhofer Seenplatte. The following elevated section of the route offers views of the Alpine chain.
- Bad Endorf is particularly famous for its thermal baths. Pleasant temperatures and the wellness facilities are the perfect relaxation programme after a long day of cycling. Every year in early summer, the local farmer's theatre performs the story of a saint.
- Now the path becomes a little more arduous in between. The lonely atmosphere with the historic church in Patersdorf standing free in the meadow makes up for this. In Schwabering, the newly restored church in late Gothic style impresses with its blue starry sky.
- After a short detour to the Stucksdorfer Moss with the dreamy Siferlinger See lake, the Rinssee lake invites you to swim shortly afterwards. The Geschwendtner family's Rinser natural ice cream is a special treat.
- Griesstätt has been beautifully spruced up, especially the centre of the village. We now cross the Inn and cycle southwards along the Inn cycle path. A detour northwards on the Inn Cycle Path West leads to the Modest coffee roastery, where you can sample the coffee specialities.
- Rott greets you from afar from the mountain. The famous baroque monastery church there has been newly renovated and now shines again in all its splendour. In the cemetery is the tomb of Franz Josef Strauß.
- The route descends into the Inn Valley again. A loop along the Inn takes us up to Attel. You should take a look at the monastery church there.
- Now you cycle along the Innleite and cross the extensive grounds of the Inn-Salzach Clinic. At the top of the hill, you can cycle straight back to the railway station or turn right over the Burgau and down into the old town of Wasserburg.
