    Danube Cycle Track

    This long-distance cycle tour is one of the most famous in Europe and a classic par excellence. You cycle from Passau via the Danube metropolis of Vienna to Bratislava along a truly picture-postcard landscape. Along the way you will discover sleepy baroque towns, the picturesque vineyards of Wachau, pristine floodplains and the pulsating metropolitan feeling in Vienna. 394 km of perfect cycling infrastructure. Wonderful!

    Romantic DANUBE CYCLE TRACK

    Idyllic vineyards. Multi-faceted landscape. City flair at its best.

    This popular long-distance cycle route starts in the beautiful 3-river town of Passau in Bavaria, where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. A “must-see” in this charming diocesan town is the 13th century fortress – as well as the baroque old town and the impressive St. Stephen’s Cathedral with its characteristic onion-domed towers.

    The route continues with a leisurely ride along the flat Danube Valley to Engelhartszell with the only Trappist monastery in Austria. Now you cycle downstream past magnificent forests and flowering wild meadows through the tranquil Donauleiten Nature Reserve with the impressive “Schlögener Loop”, where the Danube changes its course twice. Enjoy this spectacle of nature!
