The car park by the town hall in Algund is a good starting point for the Leiteralm tour. Start by following a small part of the cycle trail towards Töll/Vinschgau and then branch off towards Vellau on the main road. The trail continues undiminished uphill to the Oberplatzer from where it becomes a gravel path. This then leads up to the Leiteralm at an altitude of 1,150 metres above the starting location.
