Brewing art and beer enjoyment are integral to Mühlviertel, much like its hills and granite. It’s as synonymous as “Amen” to a prayer. In this region, where beer has been brewed for over 500 years, it proudly identifies itself as a global hub for beer and takes pride in being home to Austria’s largest hop cultivation region.

The Gewürztraminer effectively has taken root all over the world and is an undisputed icon here in Tramin, the place that gave the wine its name. And that’s exactly how it’s handled, this golden white wine that is believed to be so many things.

Ancient wine culture meets ultra-modern wineries, venerable customs meet elegant wine events, and the finest white wines meet the down-to-earth conviviality of the Heurigen.

For Silvia Schneider, enjoying a Danube trout on an idyllic terrace with views of the Danube is a true moment of pleasure.

Where clear spring water flows down from the wooded banks of the Danube, those trout are raised, which are tasty and prepared with much love and can be enjoyed wonderfully on a terrace with a view of the Danube.

The region’s biggest and sweetest treat is the Wiesener “strawberry”. The wonderful scent of the sun-ripened fruits and the sparkling Rosalia Frizzante rosé make your mouth water. If it were not a strawberry, you would have to address it like royalty.

The herb farm “Hauser” is a Puster Valley mountain farm located in the small village of Wielenberg. At an altitude of 1,150 meters, Josef and Brunhilde have been cultivating various herbs in a sunny location since 1997. These herbs are processed into essential oils, teas, spirits, or cosmetics.

Creative dishes were created during the Mostviertel field experiments: feta cheese in ash with chive pesto, char served on a blood sausage and einkorn wheat risotto, and Traisen valley asparagus on nettles served with an Ötscher soil espuma.
