The starting point of the cycling tour is the marketplace Liebenau. From there, it leads towards Hirschau to the source of the river Kamp, which originates here. The route then partially retraces its path over the Ungererhahn and passes the RostBar inn before continuing through the picturesque village of Schanz and further to the Taborwald. After an idyllic ride through the Rubenerwald, the path leads through the villages of Kienau, Neustift, Leopoldstein, and Dauerbach to the Rubener Teich in the Tanner Moor nature reserve, the highest-lying forest high moor in Upper Austria.
The route steadily ascends and descends over Geierschlag and Windhing to Liebenstein, from where one can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Waldviertel and towards Czechia from the Jankusmauer. Near the Jankusmauer, there are two sacrificial bowls known as “Devil’s Cauldrons”. One of them is always dry, while the other is always filled with water. The route then leads back to Liebenau via Eibenberg and Monegg.
