Muhr Route
Starting from St. Michael, you cycle along the river Mur past the district of Glashütte to Schellgaden. There you continue on the Muhrer Landesstraße to the village of Muhr. Here you can admire the “Prangstangen” in the church from 29 June to 15 August. Continuing through the picturesque village of Jedl, you reach the Arsenhaus (not serviced). Shortly before, on the right side, is the Blasnerhof, which is open every Thursday and where you can stop for a bite to eat. The Blasnerhof has a small museum that is also very worth seeing. Leaving the Arsenhaus behind, the trail on the right with a 19% gradient takes you to the Muritzen car park, which is the ideal place for a short rest. Those who are still in the mood can continue cycling uphill to the Sticklerhütte at 1,752m above sea level, and then walk approximately 3 km to the source of the Mur.
A special tip for this route: the new exhibition “(M)URSPRUNG – Natur im Fluss”, directly in the village of Muhr.
