The Drau Cycle Path, awarded 5 stars by the ADFC, stretches over 366 kilometres and takes you from the source of the Drau in the Italian Toblacher Feld through the picturesque landscape of East Tyrol and Carinthia to Maribor in Slovenia.
Cycling pleasure along the Drau
The tour begins in Alta Pusteria, not far from the source of the Drava, and follows the course of the river through varied natural scenery. As you cycle through idyllic valleys, historic towns and charming villages, the Drau remains your constant companion. From Dravograd in Slovenia, the cycle path leaves the valley floor and winds its way through the gentle slopes of the surrounding mountains. Impressive views of the Slovenian Drava Valley open up to you here.
The destination of this cycle tour is Maribor, Slovenia's second largest city and former European Capital of Culture. Round off your tour with a glass of the famous Slovenian wine and savour the special atmosphere of this city steeped in history.
