Herbs for body and soul in the Tölzer Land region
With this bike tour, you treat your body and soul to a day's holiday and pure relaxation. Leave your everyday stress behind you and just enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.
The cycle tour starts in Bad Heilbrunn. First you visit the herb adventure park and then stop for refreshments at the neighbouring bistro café.
The tour continues to the herb parlour at the Glaswinklerhof. Here you can book a herb hike, a breakfast with regional herbs or a workshop. Herbal expert Maria Walser knows her stuff!
The next stop is another culinary highlight. Forellenhof Walgerfranz offers fresh fish dishes and Bavarian specialities with regional herbs. Enjoy the flavour!
Before the midday sluggishness sets in after the delicious meal, get back on your bike and visit the Hollerfeen from Tölzer Land. They offer smoking ceremonies, we recommend the incense: "For body, mind and soul".
Finally, we head to the old town centre of Bad Tölz! More precisely, to the tea and herb parlour.
So get on your bike and then it's time to switch off and relax!
Roadbook
From the "Kirche" bus stop, follow Ferdinand-Maria-Straße northwards to the next stop. On the left-hand side you will see the entrance to the first two destinations, the Herb Experience Park Bad Heilbrunn and the Bistro Café.
After you have got to know many herbs in the Herb Experience Park and refreshed yourself in the Bistro Café, turn right at the park exit into Ramsauer Weg. Here you immediately turn right again into Wömerweg. At the T-junction, cross the road and turn left onto the forest path, where you cross the Stallauer Bach stream. The path ends in the next settlement and leads back to the Schilcherholzweg, which you follow in a north-easterly direction. As you follow the road, you can look around and enjoy the beautiful green landscape. As soon as you reach a T-junction at the beginning of the next settlement, Oberbuchen, turn right. At the first road on the right, turn right again and leave the settlement. Follow this road for about 15 minutes, taking breaks where possible to take in the beautiful scenery. You will then pass through a forest and after leaving it, continue straight ahead on the first left-hand road before turning onto the second left-hand road. Before turning off, you can already see the Glaswinklerhof from the road. Here you will find the herb parlour, run by herb expert Maria Walser, where you can get to know all the regional herbs.
After your visit to the cosy parlour, return to the road you came from and follow it north-east until you reach another T-junction, where the busy St2064 is located. Watch out for cars and vehicles here and turn left. Turn right at the first opportunity. Stay on the road for about 15 minutes. Here you have another opportunity to admire the splendour of the surrounding flowers. But be careful: keep looking at the road while cycling! Then you cross a small settlement called Auf der Höh and see the Fischbach Filialkirche church on the right. You then cross two successive forests and reach another junction with a busy road, the TÖL7. Cross the road carefully and turn right onto the cycle path. You will now enter another forest and see the Isar to your left. In the forest, turn left first and cross a bridge. At the T-junction on the other side, turn left again and follow the Walgerfranzweg gravel path through a beautiful stretch of forest to the car park of Forellenhof Walgerfranz. Here you can enjoy a fresh fish dish or a Bavarian speciality and relax in the sun in the beer garden.
With a full stomach, leave the Forellenhof the same way you came, but don't cross the bridge, but pass it on the left. Turn right at the first opportunity onto Walgerfranzweg (don't be confused by the same name) to cycle along the beautiful Isar again. Follow the road through a short section of forest. At the end of the path, you will be directed to the road An der Isarlust, where you turn sharp right and then immediately left. At the edge of the forest, cross the river and turn left onto the Bürgermeister-Stollreither-Promenade to cycle along the Isar for the last time. Shortly before the large bridge, you come to a road where you turn right. You will reach Badstraße, where you turn left directly into the roundabout. Take the third exit, cross the busy bridge carefully and you will reach the beautiful old town centre of Bad Tölz.
To get to the Hollerfeen of Bad Tölz, turn left into a small forest, take the path on the right at the fork and then the second path on the right. At the end of the path, turn left into Fröhlichgasse and you will reach your destination on the left. Here you can do something good for your body, mind and soul with an incense and then take a short walk in the nature garden.
Then return to the road you came from and follow it. At the end, turn left into Säggasse. If you turn right into Rathausgasse, you are back in the centre of the old town. Turn left at the market square and you will find the Tee- und Kräuterstub'n on the right.
After you have stocked up on all kinds of spices and teas, the last stop follows: Bad Tölz railway station. To get there, turn right down Marktstraße from the Stub'n and turn right into Elbachzeile at the Mühlfeldkirche church, from where you will be directed onto Gaißacher Straße. At Ruhlandstraße, turn left into the street and after crossing Sachsenkamer Straße you will see Bad Tölz railway station on your right.
This is where the cycle tour "Herbs for body and soul in the Tölzer Land" ends. Hopefully you were able to use the excursion for real relaxation, learn something about regional herbs and teas and enjoy the nature of the Tölzer Land. We wish you a safe journey home!
