Pustertal Valley cycle route

From Franzensfeste you cycle through the green Pustertal valley and continue along the rivers Rienz and Drau - past medieval Bruneck to Lienz in East Tyrol.

Highlights along the way? The Capriz cheese dairy, the South Tyrolean Museum of Folklore, Lake Braies, Lake Anterselva, the cheese bunker, Taufers Castle and the Reinbach waterfalls. The tour can be completed in one go or in stages.

From Bruneck, you can cycle through the Pustertal valley in all 4 directions. In the north to Ahrntal (25 km), in the middle of the Zillertal Alps, and in the south to Pederü (35 km), in the middle of the Dolomites. To the west to the episcopal town of Brixen and to the east to Innichen. The route is approx. 35 km long in both directions and you are welcome to take the train for the return journey.
