Wolfratshausen Loisach-Isar cycle tour
Multi-day leisure cycle tour along the picturesque Loisach and Isar rivers. The entire route offers an overwhelming natural and mountain panorama.
The rafting town of Wolfratshausen lies at the confluence of the Isar and Loisach rivers just outside Munich. The historic town is the ideal starting point for the scenic multi-day cycle tour upstream on the Loisach, around the Zugspitze and back downstream on the Isar to the rafting town. On the almost 300 km and 1800 metres of climbing, you will explore rural landscapes, pretty towns and villages, imposing mountain scenery, wild river landscapes and always stay on good roads and paths. The only major ascent to the Ehrwalder Alm can be comfortably overcome by cable car. The tour can be easily completed by leisure cyclists in 5 daily stages. The sporty cyclist can of course organise the stages individually. As an extension of the tour, there are also worthwhile detours to the rustic Wolfratshauser Hütte on the Grubigstein with panoramic views of the Zugspitze and to the Isar springs in the Hinterautal valley in the Karwendel.

Worthwhile detour to stage 2 - Wolfratshauser Hütte Length
2x 11 km, ascent: approx. 800 metres
Lermoos - Grubig middle station - Wolfratshauser Hütte - and back
Option: Lermoos Grubiglift - Grubig middle station, by cable car with bike transport
Characteristics: Motor vehicle-free route, constant significant incline (approx. 15%) on the outward journey
3.Suggested stage (through the Wetterstein mountains) Lermoos - Mittenwald
Length: 50 km, ascent: approx. 850 metres
Characteristics: Mountain paths and low-traffic road, significant inclines

Mittenwald - Wallgau - Vorderriß - Fall/ Sylvensteinsee - Winkel - Lenggries
Option 1: The route Wallgau - Vorderriß can also be covered on the German Alpine Road B307 instead of the mountain path
