Ingredients for the bread dumplings
- 1 kg dumpling bread
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 onion
- 150 g butter
- 1/4 litre warm milk
- Pinch of salt
- Parsley
- Any spices
Ingredients for the mushroom sauce
- 1 kg chanterelles
- 200 g butter
- 1 onion
- Pinch of salt & pepper
- Any spices you like
- 1/2 fresh crème fraîche
- Flour (to taste)
Preparation
Bread dumplings
Mix the dumpling bread, eggs and chopped onion. Soften the butter and mix with the parsley and any other herbs. Finally, add the slightly warmed milk, mix well and season. Shape the dough into dumpling shapes and cook in boiling water for approx. 20 - 25 mins.
Mushroom sauce
Heat the butter in a pan, peel and finely chop the onion and fry in the butter until golden brown. Add the chanterelles, fry and simmer in the resulting stock for approx. 10 minutes. Mix a little flour with water and stir into the mushroom sauce. Finally, stir in the crème fraîche and season with parsley, salt and pepper.
