Pohorski lonec

Ingredients for the Pohorski lonec

for 4 to 5 people

  • 80 g veal
  • 120 g pork
  • 120 g poultry meat, boneless
  • 200 g potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 50 g hamburger bacon
  • 10 g dried mushrooms or mushroom powder
  • 140 g porcini mushrooms
  • 50 g chanterelles
  • Pickle water to taste
  • 120 g pearl barley cooked in soup base
  • Pepper, salt, marjoram, bay leaf, thyme, oregano, parsley, garlic (use all spices very sparingly)
  • Oil, flour as required, water to pour on top

Preparation of Pohorski lonec

Fry the chopped onions in hot fat. Add the diced bacon and fry the veal first, then the pork and finally the poultry. Season with chopped garlic, spices and mushrooms. Pour in the soup. Add separately cooked, diced potatoes and separately cooked pearl barley porridge (soak overnight before cooking). Stir everything together and bring to the boil. Finally, add pickle water and chopped parsley.
