
Ingredients for 8 dumplings
- 350 g dumpling bread from the bakery
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 litre milk
- 1/4 litre cream
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 1 handful of finely chopped parsley
- optional: 1 handful of finely chopped (venison) sausage
Preparation of the bread dumplings
Placethe dumpling bread in a large bowl, heat the milk and cream until lukewarm. Add all the ingredients, mix well and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
Next, form dumplings of any size with moistened hands: Press the dough together well and form balls. Cook the bread dumplings in a large pan of gently boiling salted water for approx. 15-20 minutes (depending on their size, they are ready when they rise to the top) - remove from the pan, done.
Ingredients for the roasted dumplings
(per portion)
- 2 dumplings
- 1 egg
- Clarified butter for frying
- Parsley to garnish
- We recommend a green salad as a side dish.
Preparation of the roasted dumplings
- Halve the finished dumplings and cut into slices.
- Heat a pan with clarified butter, add the dumplings and fry until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, prepare 1 fried egg in a separate pan.
- Place the fried dumplings on the plate, top with the fried egg and garnish with parsley. Done.
