Mitterberg round trip
From St. Michael, you cycle leisurely downstream the Mur river, past Mur Island, through St. Margarethen, Unternberg to Tamsweg. The Leonhard Church is a cultural highlight in Tamsweg. The tour continues via St. Andrä, Lintsching, along the Taurach river to Pichl. Continuing via Gröbendorf and Steindorf, you reach Mauterndorf. A visit to Mauterndorf Castle or a refreshing detour to the adventure pool is highly recommended.
If you want to extend the Mitterberg tour a little, then you should choose the route to Weißpriach before Gröbendorf. A beautiful side valley along the Longa, where you will return to after about 18 km following a culinary stop in a hut. You will certainly enjoy the beautiful landscape and the clean air. Past Mauterndorf, you will pass the legendary Moosham Castle, which invites you to take a worthwhile guided tour. The journey finally leads via Pischelsdorf in the direction of St. Margarethen upstream along the Mur river back to St. Michael.
