Puster Valley Cycle Route
From Franzensfeste you cycle through the green Puster Valley and follow the Rienz and Drau rivers – past mediaeval Bruneck and to Lienz in East Tyrol.
Highlights on the way? The Capriz fine dairy, South Tyrolean State Museum of Folklore, Lake Prags, Lake Antholz, the Käsebunker, Taufers Castle and the Reinbach Waterfalls. The tour can be tackled in one go or in stages.
From Bruneck you can tackle the Puster Valley in all directions. Into the Ahrn Valley in the north (25 km), in the heart of the Zillertal Alps, and to Pederü in the south (35 km), in the heart of the Dolomites. In the west you can cycle to the Bishopric of Brixen and to Innichen in the east. The trail is approx. 35 km in both directions and, in both cases, you can travel back by train.
