Spechtensee Route
Travel approx. 1.4 km from Irdning to Schlattham – at the junction turn left onto the Sallaberg, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Grimming. After the descent before the Enns Bridge, take the junction to the right onto the R7 and cycle along the Enns, past the Fliegerhorst Aigen and to the federal road. Follow this road towards Wörschach. After the underpass on the federal road, keep left to the only mountain classification of approx. 8 km through the Wörschach Wood. At kilometre 10.7 you’ll have a lovely view of the Wolkenstein ruins. The Spechtensee Lake is located in the heart of the lovely meadow region. You’ll always have the mighty Grimming in your sights as you descend towards Klachau. Continue on the R19 to the former federal road to Untergrimming and on to Trautenfels. Cross the roundabout in Trautenfels and then continue at a gentle pace on the R7 back to the starting point in Irdning.
