Experience

The tour is often hilly and with few rolling sections, a challenging day tour. It comprises two sections: In the north around Ardagger Abbey and in the south between Euratsfeld and Neuhofen.

Sweeping views - across to the Mühlviertel and as far as the Ötscher - make this tour a "sublime" experience. Along the way, there are numerous places to stop for refreshments. There are also numerous sights along the way.

Note: The cycle route is signposted in both directions and can also be cycled in the other direction.

Roadbook

The Mostbaron cycle route starts from Ardagger Abbey and climbs gently up to Viehdorf, before descending gently to Leutzmannsdorf. After crossing the Ybbs, the route climbs slightly again towards Euratsfeld. Before reaching Euratsfeld, the Zeilinger cider tavern and the Landhotel Gafringwirt invite you to stop for refreshments.

From Euratsfeld, the route continues steadily uphill and downhill to Neuhofen an der Ybbs. From Neufurth to Oed-Öhling, the route is extremely flat before becoming a little more challenging again immediately after the Mostelleria in Öhling. The highest point of the route is reached directly under the A1 motorway, and from here the route rolls gently downhill in a north-easterly direction.

Shortly after Zeillern Castle, the route continues northwards towards Stephanshart, where the lowest point of the route is reached. The last few kilometres are slightly hilly to the east back to the starting point in Ardagger-Stift.
