Heart bread

Delicious, home-baked bread: recipe from the Salzburger Lungau gourmet region to try.

Ingredients for 2 loaves

  • 660 g lukewarm water
  • 300 g wheat bread flour 1600
  • 250 g wheat flour 700
  • 450 g rye flour
  • 10 g bread spice
  • 20 g salt
  • 20 g yeast (yeast)

Preparation of heart-shaped bread

  1. Prepare a yeast dough from the above ingredients, cover and leave to rise for about 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into two pieces and knead each piece well. Then shape each piece into a heart, sprinkle with water and leave to rise again for 10 minutes.
  3. Our tip: If necessary, dust with a little flour before baking and cut into the bread.
  4. Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 230 degrees - after 10 minutes, reduce the temperature to 210 degrees and finish baking. The total baking time is 40 minutes.
