Ingredients Swiss stone pine syrup

  • 5 litres of water
  • 5 kg sugar
  • ½ kg rock candy
  • 50 pine cones
  • Thyme (to taste)
  • Juice from 5 squeezed lemons
  • 10 dag citric acid

Swiss stone pine syrup

Swiss stone pine schnapps is probably one of the best-known Lungau specialities and is very popular in our Lungau mountain huts due to its indescribably delicious taste. Do you like the flavour of Swiss stone pine schnapps, but would like an alcohol-free alternative that is at least as delicious? Then why not try our recipe for a tasty Swiss stone pine syrup.

Preparation of Swiss stone pine syrup

  1. Bring the water, sugar and rock candy to the boil
  2. Add the chopped Swiss stone pine
  3. Add the thyme (to taste)
  4. Add lemon juice and citric acid
  5. Then leave the whole thing to stand for 24 hours
  6. Strain & bring to the boil again
  7. Add a little boiling aid and bottle the Swiss stone pine syrup
