Walkner's cheese doughnuts

Recipe from the Salzburger Seenland gourmet region. Walkners Käsekrapferl are quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients for the cheese fritters

  • 250 g Emmental cheese
  • 250 g mountain cheese
  • 125 g curd cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 1 dash of cream
  • Salt, pepper, parsley

Preparation of the cheese fritters

An old recipe from the Haberl family at Hotel Walkner

Grate the two cheeses and knead into a dough with all the ingredients. Shape into small loaves and then coat in finely grated breadcrumbs. Fry in clarified butter or vegetable oil until golden brown.

Serving suggestion: Serve the cheese fritters with a chive garnish and a crispy leaf salad
