    Church tower – cycle tour

In short: moderate inclines at the beginning and end, in between rolling stretches over fertile farmland – a gentle wave through a still intact cultural landscape!
There’s now plenty to see: the Blasenkirchturm peeks out from the forest – a true gem from the late Gothic era in complete harmony with the revitalised Mesnerhäusl. The short pushing section to the idyllic Fernbach is still used as a church path when regular visitors come to the church service.

The subsequent flat land is dominated by stately square farm buildings, but church towers visible from afar give us a sense of orientation. For example, the tower in Neukematen that was added relatively late to the Protestant bath house and today rises above a modern parish centre.
Below in the Krems Valley, the clumsily fortified church of Kematen reminds us that times of peace were the exception. The Krems splashes gently with normal water in its regulated bed, and we glide comfortably beside it towards Rohr – where the lovely onion-shaped tower greets us from a prominent hill. This used to be the castle of the lords of Rohr and is now a place where you can stop for a bite to eat in the shady outdoor eating area.
