Stages on the e-bike tour

Day 1: Sankt Pölten – Petzenkirchen
Starting from Sankt Pölten, the first day is flat and sedate as you travel along the Römer cycle route and past the Melk alpine foothills towards Petzenkirchen. You’ll reach your destination after around 50 km.

Day 2: Petzenkirchen – Ardaggger
Freshly recovered, you cycle comfortably along the Erlauftal cycle path to Pöchlarn and then along the Danube cycle path to Ardagger, before taking the Most cycle route and then the Mostbaron cycle route to the end point at the Schiffsmeisterhaus in Ardaggger after 40 km.

Day 3: Ardaggger – Waidhofen an der Ybbs
After a relaxing night in the Schiffsmeisterhaus, you’ll continue on a shorter section (30 km) of the Mostbaron cycle route to Ulmerfeld. From here, carry on along the Ybbs Valley Cycle Trail towards Waidhofen an der Ybbs. Spend the afternoon enjoying a walk through the charming old town. You’ll spend the night in Waidhofen an der Ybbs.
Tip:If you want to cycle further than 30 kilometres, it’s worth making a detour to the blacksmith centre of Ybbsitz (11 km away).

Day 4: Waidhofen an der Ybbs – Lunz am See
A true highlight awaits you on the fourth day: the 55 km long heart of the Ybbs Valley Cycle Trail towards Lunz am See lies close to water and captivates cyclists with its wonderful natural surroundings – perfect for hobby cyclists and anyone who wants to become one.

Day 5: Lunz am See – Mariazell
“Take on challenges”: that’s the motto on day five. You’ll tackle a few gradients on the 35 km long stage from Lunz to Mariazell (briefly on a lovely trekking route and then on the Zellerrain Pass). After a downhill section, you’ll continue along the idyllic Erlauf and be rewarded for the previously conquered ascents. Shortly afterwards you’ll reach your destination for the day of Mariazell.
Tip: This stage takes you along a state road via the Zellerrain Pass. Alternatively, you can tackle the (somewhat challenging) mountain bike route or, if you want to take things easier, take a ride in the bike taxi.

Day 6: Mariazell – Sankt Pölten
The final stage takes you from Mariazell and over 80 km back to Sankt Pölten. On the Traisen Valley Cycle Route, there’s an initial slight incline up to Gscheid bei Kernhof before you ride leisurely along the Traisen.

Connoisseur tip: If you haven’t had enough cycling take the Traisen Valley Cycle Route from Sankt Pölten to the Danube. You should absolutely plan a break at a wine tavern in the Traisen Valley wine region en route to Traismauer and back (50 km).

Extension tip: On the day of arrival or before travelling home, we recommend an extra night in St. Pölten. Starting from Hotel Das Alfred, there are plenty of (cultural) sights to discover in the provincial capital.
