Past mountains and vines
This tour takes you along the Alpe-Adria-Cycle Track. The cycle trip goes from Salzburg via St. Johann im Pongau and into the Gastein Valley. From here you take the train through the Tauern Railway Tunnel to the other side of the Alps. Once you get to Mallnitz continue to the Möll Valley. Cycle along the Möll, a tributary of the Drava, towards Villach. From here it’s not much further to Italy. Continue on the well-developed cycle paths through the Canale Valley.
On the way to Udine you’ll pass the first grapevines and come ever closer to the Italian flair. The cycling trip ends in the historic fishing town of Grado.

From Salzburg to Grado
You’ll mainly cycle along well-developed cycle paths and quiet side roads. Only a few short sections take you on roads with more traffic or dirt roads. On the whole, the route is slightly hilly and you can travel on the most challenging section between St. Johann and the Gastein Valley by train.
