The Roman Cycle Trail from Passau to Enns
For almost half a millennium, the Romans occupied the provinces of Noricum and Raetien, which also included parts of Upper Austria and Bavaria. This lasting heritage can still be seen today and can be explored on the Roman Cycle Trail.
Starting from Passau, cycle over the gently undulating Innviertel and conquer the city of Wels or the Attergau. The destination is Enns, the former Roman camp of Lauriacum in the Danubian Limes. The former “wet” border has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021. Further world heritage sites along the Danube include: the Roman fort of Oberranna or the Roman baths and Roman park in Schlögen.
