    To the Pinzgau

Starting from the tourist information office in Westendorf, travel on the Brixental Cycle Track to the Windautal Valley. Along the Windauer Ache you’ll come to the Gamskogelhütte. From here, it will initially get a bit steeper. After a short descent towards the car park in Krumbach, the longer ascent up to Filzenscharte starts. Past the Foischingalm and beautiful mountain pasture area, you’ll come to Schreier Bründl. Depending on your needs and mood, you can enjoy a traditional “Jause” at the Rotwand Grundalm. Alternatively, an approximately 500 m long pushing section starts from Schreier Bründl.

From the Filzenscharte you’ll come to the federal state of Salzburg or, more precisely, Pinzgau where you’ll see part of the Upper Tauern. When you arrive in Neukirchen, the Upper Tauern Cycle Trail takes you via Bramberg to the start of the ascent up to Stangenjoch. Continue upwards on the well-signposted asphalt path. You’ll shortly come to a gravel path takes you up to the Stangenalm and Stangenjoch. After a brief section on a poor-quality mountain pasture path, you‘ll get to Aschau and can continue on a good cycle path to Kirchberg. You can gently cycle along the flat Brixental Cycle Track to Westendorf.
