Stoderzinken Route
The destination on this tour is the Stoderzinken, one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the region. Starting in Gröbming, you follow the R7 to Aich-Assach from where the moderately steep ascent to the Assacher Scharte begins. On a lovely forest road, you continually climb up a gradual incline, initially in the wood and then with a wonderful view down into the Enns Valley. After a brief descent, you’ll reach the Stoderzinken Alpine Road from where the ascent continues on asphalt. The road meanders up into the rock faces of the Stoderzinken and you’ll be repeatedly rewarded with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding mountain world. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a rest and a bite to eat in one of the cosy chalets. If you’ve still got some energy left, you should hike to the Friedenskircherl (the symbol of Stoderzinken) before heading back to Gröbming on the Stoderzinken Alpine Road. Continue through Winkl on the way back to the starting point in the centre of Gröbming.
