Follow the Ybbstal cycle path to St. Georgen am Reith and then turn right towards Ybbsitz. Via the large and small Kripp you reach the high valley of Prolling, from where the route descends gently to Ybbsitz, one of the main towns on the Iron Road.

Past the cute Maria Seesal, with little traffic on the small Ybbs Valley cycle path through the Zogels and Wiesergraben, you later reach the small Erlauf Valley cycle path and follow this via Brettl towards Gaming, where a highlight awaits with the Charterhouse.

Via Pfaffenschlag, you continue along the Erlauftal cycle path in the direction of Lunz, which you leave to the left at the start of the town and cycle through the picturesque Ahorn and Sulzbach valleys surrounded by beautiful nature. At the Töpperbrücke bridge you come back into the Ybbstal valley and the last few kilometres lead downstream along the Ybbstal cycle path back to Göstling.

The route is NOT signposted as such!

This is followed by a short but steep descent (max. 16%) with two hairpin bends and a 500m long counter-climb (max. 8%) to the Kleine Kripp. Through the Prolling high valley, the route tends to be slightly downhill with a few small counterslopes and the last 2km have a maximum gradient of 14% over 600m.

In Ybbsitz, ride through the village and briefly follow the main road towards Gresten before turning right towards Zogelsgraben after 3km. First flat, then slightly uphill with a maximum gradient of 6% for about 5 kilometres to the crest, followed by a descent with a maximum gradient of 7% and two hairpin bends at the beginning.

Once in the small Erlauftal valley, turn right towards Gaming and follow a 3km long, moderately ascending (3%) section to Brettl, followed by a moderately steep descent (4%) to the junction with the large Erlauftal cycle path.

Follow this to the right to Gaming, past the Charterhouse and on towards Pfaffenschlag, a 5km long climb with a maximum gradient of 8% on the last kilometre. Parallel to the Nostalgiebahn railway, the route descends slightly towards Lunz, where you turn right towards Ahor- und Sulzbachtal shortly before the village sign.

Follow the trekking route to the Topperbrücke bridge in Kasten near Lunz and then turn right onto the Ybbstal cycle path and the last few kilometres downstream back to Göstling.
