Cycling holiday im Salzburg lake region

Cycling in the Salzburg lake region: 600 km of cycle trails under one roof

Cycling in the Salzburg lake region

Four lakes, gentle hills, the mountain panorama in the distance: the Velodrome Salzburg lake region is Austrian’s hotspot for pleasure cyclists.
Close to the world-famous Mozart city of Salzburg, the natural surroundings offer many opportunities for experiencing an unforgettable holiday. The gentle landscape of the Alpine foreland with the WALLERSEE, MATTSEE, GRABENSEE and OBERTRUMER SEE lakes stands for varied tours. It’s not for nothing that the Salzburg lake region with its 17 developed routes is also known as the “Velodrome”: it’s like a large cycling track but slightly larger and surrounded by grazing cows, farms and small villages. The hilly landscape and many lakes attract many hobby athletes and people in search of relaxation.

The food in the region leaves nothing to be desired. Freshly-caught fish from the lakes, home-grown fruits and vegetables or milk from local cows – the foundations for quality regional cuisine are in place!

Discover food in the Salzburg lake region

Located in Obertrum am See, the Trumer private brewery was founded in 1601 and has been owned by the Sigl family since 1775. Since 2013, Josef C. Sigl has been running the family business in the eighth generation. The exclusive use of natural hops, specially developed open fermentation process and particularly long maturing time in line with the slow brewing philosophy make the Trumer Pils a top representative of its kind.
